Learning...People

In the next few months, I'm going to have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people. That "opportunity" actually began a few days ago, when the first prospective renters appeared to look at the house. Nice couple with three boys and another on the way. They left their children at home when they came to look at the house.

Today's prospective renter brought the two children with her, as her husband is still packing up their stuff in another state before he joins her and their two children, a sweet little girl and a rambuctious little boy. They've been stuffed in a car for the last two days, though, so his being a bit hyper is understood.

I'm sure there's a list of Things Not To Do for landlords when showing a house. I've probably broken some of those rules. (Mental note: Look this up.) When looking for a house and talkng to a prospective landlord, though, it's probably a good idea to not inquire if it's ok to rewire some of the electricity in the house. On the positive side, at least she did ask.

Minutes after she had mentioned multiple times that she's a real estate agent. No, her husband is not a licensed electrician in this state. Shouldn't she know better? Heck, even I know rewiring electricity is not a good idea.
